Precision Contouring, Not Simply Fat Removal
Liposuction is designed to refine body proportions by selectively reducing localized fat deposits and creating smoother, more balanced contours.
Even with a healthy lifestyle, certain areas of fat can remain resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction allows the surgeon to target these areas precisely while considering the relationship between the abdomen, waist, hips, back, thighs and arms.
The goal is not to remove the greatest possible amount of fat. Beautiful body contouring depends on controlled reduction, smooth transitions and proportions that remain natural for your individual anatomy.
Shape the Areas That Define Your Silhouette
Liposuction may focus on one localized area or several connected regions to create a smoother and more harmonious overall contour.
Abdomen
Reduce localized upper and lower abdominal fat and create a cleaner abdominal contour.
Waist & Flanks
Improve waist definition and create a smoother transition toward the hips and lower back.
Back
Address localized upper-back, bra-line and lower-back fullness for a smoother torso.
Arms
Refine upper-arm fullness in patients with suitable skin quality and elasticity.
Thighs
Contour the inner or outer thighs while preserving natural transitions around the legs.
Hips
Refine the relationship between the waist, pelvis and thighs while maintaining natural curves.
Knees
Subtle treatment of localized deposits can help create a more refined leg contour.
Chin & Neck
Selected patients may benefit from localized fat reduction beneath the chin and jawline.
Proportion Matters More Than a Number
The most refined liposuction results come from looking beyond a single treatment area and considering the silhouette as a whole.
A narrow waist, smooth back, balanced hips and natural transitions between the torso and thighs all contribute to the visual harmony of the body.
For this reason, surgical planning is based not only on where excess fat is located, but also on where volume should be preserved.
360° Liposuction
For selected patients, treating several connected areas around the torso may create a more balanced result than addressing the abdomen alone.
The exact combination is determined individually after evaluation of fat distribution, skin quality and overall body proportions.
Abdomen
Refining localized fullness across the upper and lower abdomen.
Waist
Enhancing waist definition while maintaining a natural transition toward the hips.
Flanks
Reducing localized side fullness that can interrupt the waistline.
Lower Back
Creating a smoother posterior transition between the waist and hips.
By considering the body circumferentially, the surgeon can create continuity between the front, sides and back rather than treating each area in isolation.
Body Contouring — Not Weight-Loss Surgery
Liposuction is primarily intended to improve shape and proportions rather than produce substantial weight loss.
Suitable candidates are often relatively close to a stable body weight but have localized fat deposits that remain despite diet, exercise and an active lifestyle.
A medical assessment is required to determine whether surgery is appropriate and which areas can be treated safely.
Skin Quality Matters
Liposuction removes fat but does not directly remove significant excess skin. After treatment, the skin needs to adapt to the new underlying contour.
When considerable skin laxity is present, liposuction alone may not produce the desired result.
Depending on the anatomy, a plastic surgeon may instead recommend or combine liposuction with an abdominoplasty, arm lift, thigh lift or another body-contouring procedure.
How Liposuction Is Performed
Technique and surgical planning vary according to the treatment areas, anatomy and extent of contouring required.
Assessment
The surgeon evaluates your proportions, fat distribution, skin elasticity, medical history and desired result.
Planning
Treatment areas are carefully planned so that fat reduction creates smooth transitions rather than isolated changes.
Contouring
Through small incisions, a thin cannula is used to selectively remove fat and refine the underlying contour.
Recovery
Postoperative care and compression garments support healing while swelling gradually decreases.
Remove Volume Where It Is Unwanted. Restore It Where It Is Needed.
In selected cases, fat removed during liposuction may be processed and used for fat grafting to another area.
This allows the treatment plan to focus not only on reducing volume, but also on improving overall proportions.
Whether fat grafting is appropriate depends on your anatomy, available donor fat, desired result and the surgeon's assessment.
A More Athletic Definition
In carefully selected patients, more detailed contouring techniques may be used to emphasize natural anatomical transitions and muscle definition.
High-definition contouring is not suitable for every patient. Skin elasticity, body composition and underlying anatomy strongly influence whether this approach is appropriate.
Responsible Surgical Planning
Liposuction is surgery. The treatment plan should balance aesthetic goals with the patient's health, anatomy and appropriate surgical limits.
Anesthesia
The type of anesthesia depends on the number and size of treatment areas, expected surgical duration, technique and individual medical condition.
Smaller procedures may use local anesthesia with sedation, while more extensive liposuction may require general anesthesia.
More Is Not Always Better
Successful liposuction is not defined by removing the maximum possible amount of fat.
Excessive removal can increase the risk of contour irregularities, loose skin and other complications. Safe, controlled and proportional contouring should remain the priority.
Your Liposuction Recovery Timeline
Recovery varies according to the extent of treatment and individual healing. Your final contour develops progressively as postoperative swelling resolves.
Swelling, soreness, bruising and tightness are expected. Gentle movement may be encouraged according to your surgeon's instructions.
Discomfort and bruising generally improve and many patients gradually return to normal daily activities.
Swelling continues to decrease and body contours become more visible. Exercise is resumed gradually after approval.
Residual swelling progressively resolves and tissues soften, revealing increasingly refined contours.
Sculpt Your Shape — Not Someone Else's
Beautiful body contouring is not about creating the same silhouette for every patient. It is about understanding your natural proportions and refining the areas that interrupt their balance.
Fat cells removed during liposuction are permanently removed from the treated area. However, remaining fat cells can still enlarge with significant weight gain.
Maintaining a relatively stable weight and healthy lifestyle can help preserve your improved contours over time.
Liposuction or Abdominoplasty?
These procedures address different anatomical concerns and may sometimes be combined.
Liposuction
Liposuction primarily reduces selected subcutaneous fat deposits and refines body contours.
It is often more suitable when skin quality is relatively good and significant excess skin is not present.
Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty removes excess abdominal skin and may repair separated abdominal muscles when indicated.
It may be more appropriate when there is substantial skin laxity, an abdominal overhang or muscle separation.

Request a ConsultationLiposuction FAQ
Will liposuction help me lose weight?
Liposuction is primarily a body-contouring procedure rather than a weight-loss treatment. Its main purpose is to improve shape and proportions by addressing localized fat deposits.
How much fat can be removed?
There is no single appropriate amount for every patient. Treatment volume depends on body size, health, treatment areas, technique and the overall surgical plan. Safe and proportional contouring is more important than maximum removal.
Does liposuction tighten loose skin?
Liposuction primarily removes fat. Good skin elasticity may allow the skin to adapt to the new contour, but significant excess skin may require an additional skin-removal procedure.
Will the fat come back?
Fat cells removed from the treated area are removed permanently. However, remaining fat cells can enlarge if body weight increases significantly.
Will I need a compression garment?
Compression garments are commonly used after body liposuction. The type and duration depend on the treatment areas and your surgeon's postoperative protocol.
Can several areas be treated during one surgery?
Multiple areas can sometimes be treated together. The surgeon and anesthesia team must determine whether the planned extent and surgical duration are appropriate for the individual patient.
When will I see the final result?
Initial changes can be visible relatively early, but postoperative swelling may temporarily obscure the final contour. Results continue to refine over the following weeks and months.
How long should I stay in Korea?
The recommended stay depends on the extent of surgery, recovery and the clinic's postoperative protocol. The required stay should be confirmed with the clinic before booking your return flight.
